Breaking Down The Method. 

Stanislavski's Method is a forgein concept to many. But, people speand years studying and perfecting the method. Here are some of the main points to it down for a better understanding. 
  • "The Method" and Stanislavski's Method are the same thing. The terms are used interchangably.

  • Other acting methods have branched off of Stanislavski's work. These include: Uta Hagen, Viewpoints, and Mesiner, to name a few. â€‹

  • Al Pacino, Marilyn Monroe, and Jada Pinkett-Smith are all actors who have relied on Stanislavski's method. To see more actors who use the method too check the "FAMILIAR FACES" tab. 

  • The method, in the most simple terms, is realistic acting. Which is that of a truthful nature, not characture or clown like. 

  • Stanislavski was a founder of the Moscow Art Theatre. 

  • An essential part of Stanislavski's method is emotional memory. Emotional memory calls for an actor to recollect their emotions at a specific point in time. Then use this emotional recall for their work as an actor. 

  • ​​Over 91 colleges in the United States offer acting programs. All 91 rely on Stanislavski's method. 

  • Shameless', William H. Macey and his friend David Mamet taught their own take on the method. The two taught their version at the school theye founded, The School of Practical Aesthetics. 

  • Florida State University teaches acting with the Stanislavski method.
